Tutorial: Set Up Construct 3 Access Codes
In this tutorial, we'll cover how to give students access to Construct 3 using the access code method. Access codes are quick and easy ways to get classes online! Access codes are the perfect way to anonymously give students access.
You can create multiple access codes for differing durations. You're also able to cancel them whenever you want. Examples of when the access code method may be best utilized include:
- Multiple sections of a class where students don't need 24/7 access to Construct 3
- Avoid students creating accounts on another tool / platform
- Prevent sharing of student data (email) with Construct 3

Follow the steps below to set up student access to Construct 3 using access codes:
- Go to the Construct 3 website and log in with your account
- Access the Subscriptions page and click on the plan you wish to create an access code for
- Select the number of Users and set the Access Code Lifespan
- Click Create Code to generate the access code and share with your students
- For students to use the access code, they must go to https://editor.construct.net/ and click the Account icon (upper left) to access the dropdown menu
- From the dropdown, students should select Enter Access Code and type in the code you shared
- Finally, they can check the Remember this Access Code box and click OK to start using Construct 3
- You are free to cancel the code at any time by viewing your plan in your Construct 3 account
Every time an access code is entered by a student on a device, that is considered a single use of that access code. So, if you have students using different devices during each session of your class, it may worthwhile to consider assigning students a seat instead of this method.
